Bear Chocolate Bread & Doggy Hotdog Bread

I'm addicted to "Bread Making" nowadays especially those in cute shape. As seen from others bakery shop, they don't make cute bread to attract customers, maybe is too time consuming. As a homebaker, i love to make it into cute shape to attract anyone in the family or friends so i have been goggle for various types of bread and intend to use the 40mins recipes again.

Research is very important in baking when you are totally out of the idea. With sufficient research and passion, the outcome will be very beautiful.

Since i have chocolate chip and hotdog at home, i intend to make this two flavour in cute shapes :D

How to make a cute chocolate bread in bread shape?

Making a big round face and pop in two eyes and a nose in the centre. Roll two small ball and attach on both side of the big round face.

My personalize "Bear Chocolate Bread". Does it look adorable? Everyone knows that this is a "Bear" and can't bear to eat it. Haa...

Next, how to make a hotdog bread in Doggy Shape?

Whenever i think of hotdog, i will think of doggy so intend to make this interesting shape.

Look at the above image, the doggy is biting on a hotdog. Interesting right? Cute right?

I'm using the same recipe but require sometime to make the shape. It is soo fun!! Try it if you have a time to do so.. (:

Rainbow Cookies Pop

Flipping through my to-do-list and i realised that the lollipop cookies have been in the waiting list for quite sometime. Since i have some ingredients in my storage, intend to bake some butter cookies in lollipop shape. As i have some left over rainbow rice chocolate and compound chocolate, an idea comes into my mind. Why not just bake some "rainbow cookies pop".

Making a cookie pop is slightly time consuming and that's the reason why it has been pending in my waiting list till now. Finally, managed to find sometime to make a simple cookie pop.

First, we need to bake a simple butter cookie and use a cutter to shape it (based on your preference).
Next, we need to melt the compound chocolate and let it cool for a while before dipping the cool cookies into the chocolate.
Thirdly, spread some rainbow rice chocolate onto the cookies pop.

Sound easy right? It is time consuming too! Let me show you the recipe of the simple butter cookies;

INGREDIENTS (A);

Unsalted Butter - 100g
Icing Sugar - 60g
Salt - 1/4 Tsp

INGREDIENTS (B);

Egg Yolk - 1

INGREDIENTS (C);

Plain Flour - 200g
Milk Powder - 1 Tbsp
Baking Powder - 1/2 Tsp

PROCEDURES OF BUTTER COOKIES;

1. Mix Ingredients (A) and whisk till smooth
2. Add in Ingredients (B), mix well
3. Add in Ingredients (C), mix well
4. Chill in the fridge for 15 mins
5. Use Cookie Cutter to make the design
6. Insert the cookie stick into the centre of the cookies

I'm addicted to "Bread Making" nowadays. This is my 2nd attempt on the 40mins bread as it is quick and less time consuming. Totally fall in love with the recipe. There are too many variety to choose from so for this week, i intend to try making Hotdog Bread and Char Siew Bread.

The whole process is very enjoyable, although is a bit messy in the middle of the process but i still enjoy it. I make a total number of 19 breads at this time round (Seven Hotdog bread and 12 Char Siew Bread).

My colleague said that my neighbour is very fortunate as they get to eat all the pastry when i baked. I agreed too! Today, the neighbour kids still ask for more and said "ι’εŒ…ηœŸε₯½εƒ“ Haha.. Jump up with Joy!! :)

"HOTDOG BREAD"

This bread is very soft and chewy, well-liked by my neighbour kids! Do you think it looks like those selling at bakery shop? Anyone craving it?

"CHAR SIEW BREAD"

Look at those filling, it taste good!!! Drooling now? Haha.. i'm just kidding :P Not purposely show the filling to you guys as if i don't show it, others might think that this is a plain bread. :)

40 Mins Bread Recipe

I love to eat bread but I'm lazy to make because I always find that baking a bread is very time consuming. From Starter dough, main dough, proofing and baking. This process can last for a day which is quite tough for working lady just like me.

In retail shop, the price of the bread had increase and one bread can cost about $1.20 and above. In a month, it will cost around $24. If I'm going to make my own bread, i can make about 14 (50g) bread which can last me for 3 days.

Recently, i found a great recipe known as 40 min bread. Yes! It only takes 40 min for the whole process but not include shaping. I guess the amount of yeast increase the speed of the bread to proof faster. The texture is very soft and fluffy just like the 5K Recipe that i did previously. Most importantly, it is less time consuming.

Look at the internal of the bread! It is soooo fluffy and soft. I bake a total of 14 bread and gone in a few hrs time. Everybody love it :)
 Now, I'm going to share the recipe with you guys over here.

INGREDIENTS:

 280ml warm water
83ml canola oil
16g instant yeast
56g caster sugar
1.5 tsp salt
1 egg
476g bread flour

PROCEDURES:

1. Combine the water, oil, sugar and yeast in your mixing bowl, and allow it to rest for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the mixture would become foamy.

2. Add in the salt, egg and bread flour into the yeast mixture. Knead it with your mixer with the dough hook attached, knead it for about 5~7 minutes on slightly higher speed. It will become a smooth dough, with a little bit stickiness.

3. Divide the dough into your desired shapes/portion, placed them on your baking tray, covered with a clingwrap. Allow them to proof for the 2nd time, for 10 minutes.

4. After proofing, egg wash your dough and bake them for about 10-12 minutes, or until your bread turns golden brown.

Preheat Oven @ 220 degree Celsius.

  It is so amazing for us to be in a small island with the progres that we have today, peaceful and prosperity city with amazing technology We bake this fruits waffle to celebrate Singapore Birthday. The Strawberries are to represent "OUR HOME" and blueberries are to represent "US" in this tiny city. It reminds me of a song in this special occasion ~ HOME

Chorus:
This is home truly, where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me, where the river always flows
This is home truly, as my senses tell me
This is where I won't be alone, for this is where I know it's home

When there are troubles to go through
We'll find a way to start anew
There is comfort in the knowledge
That home's about its people too
So we'll build our dreams together
Just like we've done before
Just like the river which brings us life
There'll always be Singapore

We love you, SINGAPORE!

Honey Chicken Wing (Airfryer)

Other than baking, i'm interested in cooking now as inspired by my colleague. She is a good cooker who always show us her menu for the day and even sharing her recipe with me. By browsing through her recipe, i'm in love with the honey chicken wing using airfryer.

At first, i make a big mistake and there is a white smoke coming out from the fryer. Omg! Guess what i did? I should have spray some oil on the chicken and not soak the chicken into the bowl of oil. From there onwards, i learned my lesson. Only spray a little oil while using fryer in order to prevent the white smoke.

First, we need to marinate the chicken one day in advance so that the chicken wing will be more tasty. I added salt, pepper, oyster sauce, shu fen and marinate it. Next is to airfry the chicken wing.

1. Spray a bit of oil on the internal of the airfryer and chicken wing, fry for 5mins.
2. Spray some honey on both side of the chicken and fry for another 10mins.
3. Take out from airfryer and cool before serve.

Does it looks like BBQ chicken? Taste is fantastic and delicious. I shall try with teriyaki sauce on my next attempt!

Happy Cooking :D

Plain Waffle

After several months of market survey, I have found a cheap severin waffle maker at Lazada. Yea, my new toy!! Totally fall in luv with it at the first sight. Just like δΈ€θ§ι’Ÿζƒ…. Haha.. :D
As most of the retail shop sell the waffle maker at 100plus and I have been considering as it is too expensive and not really worth it since I'm not making everyday.
I'm glad that I found this cheap maker at $49 (special discount). Good Deal!! :D

Look! It is a flower/heart shape maker. Pretty?
I have a try today but it didn't turn out well. I believe that practice makes perfect so I will never give up ^-^

My 1st attempt of waffle. Too thin, over baked due to high temperature. I'm very disappointed but will try again on next week :)
